I Have Bipolar. Can I Have a Normal Job?

Hi Everyone!

This is my first post about being diagnosed with bipolar. I have always questioned my doctors whether I really have bipolar because I came back from Singapore and my jobs in Malaysia always didn't last long. Sometimes, it has also been really tough for me to find a job because I used to work in a very niche industry in Singapore.

Well, first of all, I would like to advise someone having bipolar to be very honest during interviews. Inform your potential employer that you have to regularly see doctors and take your pills. Besides that, take a lower salary and promise them that you will be willing to learn.

I have been working in my current company for nearly 1.5 years and I must say that having a routine job helps to create a calmer self. Although located in Asia, my company doesn't have late evening meetings and I always go home on time.

Having a great company is important in your journey to managing life with bipolar. Hope this blog encourages any of you who have been diagnosed with bipolar.
